Dróżnik
Jacek Kleyff i Orkiestra na Zdrowie

Tekst: J. Kleyff; muzyka J. Kleyff i O.N.Z.

Siła złego, więc przy wspólnym siądźmy stole,
nim spłacimy czasy nasze,
zastawione gdzieś w lombardzie w środku zimy.
Nasza droga przenikliwie wytyczana,
coraz bardziej; na niej fiolet się układa...
...trzeba iść nią i ją zbadać;
przy tej drodze dróżnik błędny
dzieje drogi opowiada...
...spróbuj zasiąść z nim na ławce;
popatrz, co on ma na czapce;
warto go posłuchać raczej
i nie szczędzić czterech koron.
Mówi dróżnik:
"No więc przeszedł tędy handlarz
z wizerunkiem Panny Świętej
zakupionym od malarza,
który też przechodził tędy
trochę wcześniej, niż ten handlarz...
...dziwnie błędny był ten malarz...

...potem z podniesionym czołem
zamaszyście przeszli tędy
trzej uczciwi komuniści;
rozmawiali o dochodzie
pozyskanym na hipnozie -
- ci wędrowni aktywiści...

...innym razem, ciemną nocą
przeszło wielką kawalkadą
trzysta dzieci, a niedolę
tych owieczek powiększały
złe latarnie, które świecić
im nie chciały; i szły dzieci
bez poświaty, lecz je wiodła
nocna pszczoła; nocna pszczoła
fosforowa...

...szedł też kiedyś młody pieśniarz -
- źle ubrany - trochę hrabia,
trochę wieśniak, a muskane
instrumenty, które stroił
lutnik błędny - zanosiły się
w przestrzeni, bo je w jasyr
zabierałem...

...tak patrzycie na mą czapkę,
na niej pasy dwa z fioletu,
bom dróżnikiem majestatu...
...co widzicie, to zaświaty,
których strzegę...
...tu spotykasz, czego nie wiesz...
...co powiadam, to jest prawda" -
- mówi dróżnik -
- "niezmącona?
... w górę szlaban!"

"THE WATCHMAN - '74/2004"

Lots of evil, so let's sit down by the common table,
before we pay off our Present,
pledged somewhere in a pawn-shop, in the midst of Winter.
Our way, traced out piercingly,
ever more; a purple color lying on it...
...one must go down and research it;
by this road an errant watchman
tells the story of the road...
...try to sit down on the bench with him;
look what is there on his cap;
he is rather worthy to be listened to,
not sparing four crones.
Says the watchman:
"Well, a peddler once went down this way
with a portrait of Holy Virgin
that he once bought from one painter,
who went down this road as well
a bit earlier than the peddler...
...strangely errant was this painter...

...afterwards, with their foreheads high up
briskly went down this way
three honest communists;
they were speaking about profit
gained on hypnosis -
- those wandering activists...

...some other time, through the darkness of the night
a great cavalcade went down this way;
three hundred children walked, and the misery
of these lambs was deepened
by evil lanterns, which did not want
to give them light; and the children
went down without a halo, but they were lead
by a night-bee; a night-bee,
a phosphorous one...

...the other day a young singer also went down
this way - badly clothed - a bit of a count,
a bit of a villager, and the caressed
instruments, tuned by
the errant lute maker - they were wailing
in space, for to bondage
I was taking them...

...you look at my cap so intensely,
it has two strips of purple,
for I'm the majesty's watchman...
...what you see, is the Beyond
that I am guarding...
...here you meet what you do not know...
...what I do say, is the truth" -
- says the watchman -
- "the truth unruffled...

...up with the turnpike!"
